Seniors made the trip down the M1 and arrived at Hornsby ready to play. The thirsty thirds really did work up a thirst in a game that started close but we finished strongly to get a solid 46-26 win. tries to Joshua Fash Meadham Brendan Eather, Daniel Ranson, Rob Smith, Gareth Brown and David Gee who enjoyed his first run of the season. Travis Gallen was kicking them from everywhere with 5 conversions and 2 penalties. 3pts to Josh Meadham, 2pts Thomas Starkey. 1pt Justin ...Thomas & Rob Smith. Players player and great to see him back playing (wont be in 3rds for long!) John Paterson. 2nds had plenty of opportunities but just couldn't put it all together in going down 12-20. Mitchell Jacob got the 2 tries with a conversion from Luke McPhie. Ben Tonks, another player returning to the Club after a long break, got the 3pts, 2pts Paul Leef, 1pt Brook Cheezy Morrow who also got the players player. Congratulation to Luke Wiseman on his first game of Senior Rugby after playing in our u16s a couple of years ago. Then on to the big game and the Sharks opened up playing fast precision Rugby. The score quickly got out to 21-0 as we dominated all aspects of the game. Hornsby did well to keep it at that as score as many other opportunities were help up over the line. Then a few errors from us and their sharp counter attack replied to punish each one and it was 21-24 and them feeling confident. But the Sharks turned it around from there to get back to a 42-24 lead before Hornsby finished the match with a try on full time for a 42-29 result. Tries to Luke Sheridan, Daniel Aguirre-Acevedo, Max Stewart, Chad Martin (playing at 12), Matt Anderson and Jimmy Latham. Speedy topped it off with a perfect 6 out of 6 conversions - a few of those from the sidelines. Our forwards were sensational and the coach points proved that: 3pts and players player to Max Stewart, 2pts to Emile Thomas& Jared Fitzsimmons, 1pt to Luke Sheridan & Pete Steele. Congratulations to Tyler Mcmanus for his first run in top grade, when he came on to join Max Stewart & Sam Evans that was 3 of last years u17s on the park .. you have to love seeing our local Juniors stepping up for the Club.

Seniors are away at Hornsby on Saturday, first road trip to the new Club in the competition. We are taking 2 buses; the first one leaves Heazlett at 10:15 for Colts & 3rds. The second bus leaves at 11:15 for 2nds & 1sts. One bus will leave Mark taylor Oval at 5pm after 1st grade, the second bus will leave Hornsby Inn at 6:30 after the presentations. Unfortunately our Colts team will not get to play as a team as Hornsby have withdrawn from the Colts competition. Though you will be needed to support our Grade teams during the day, so make sure you get on the bus! There will be space on both buses for some family/spectators - first in will secure the seats.
We have some junior games at Heazlett, starting at 8am with the u7 White playing Woy Woy Black & u7 Gold playing Gosford. The u8s play Terrigal Red at 8:40 and the u9s play Gosford at 8:30. Then the u12s v Terrigal Red at 9:20 and the last game of the day is the barbarians against Gosford at 10:10. The u7 green are playing Northlakes at Slade Park at 10:20. Over at Ettalong the u8 green play at 8:40, the u10s at 9:20 and the u13s at 11:10 all against home team Woy Woy. Byes for u11, u14, u16 & u17. Good Luck to all our Sharks players on Saturday! Training 5 May - Juniors training is OFF, Seniors training is ON. Unfortunately most of the ground remains saturated after the heavy weekend rain, hopefully another day of clear weather tomorrow will help it dry out . Seniors there is enough space for you to work in, bring your boots. Stan Priestley will be there from 6:30 for those needing physio.
