Wins for all of the Sharks teams today, and I am sure the u8 gold had a great time in their match up at Slade Park!.
At the Showground the u16s started the day with a strong win to stay at the top of their ladder. By the time the u19s got on the ground it was already heavy going and it turned into a really tight game without any tries, 2 penalty goals by Connor Kondrat were the only points in the match that sealed a semi final spot for the team. 1pt Michael Hobden, 2pts BenHarding, 3pts Liam Donsworth with Ben Harding picking up the players player after celebrating his 18th birthday with a reshaped nose. Then down Waitara to play Hornsby, where the ground wasn't as wet, but the cricket pitch meant for a hard slog up the middle. 2nds continued their long run of good results and the 41-7 win keeps them in the thick of things in a very tight race for the top 4. tries to Matt Norman, Sam Evans, Joe Carroll,Dylan Hardaker, Chris Newton, Justin Staben & Ben Itojie Vulaca. Ash Roberts converted three of the tries. 1pt Justin Staben & Rhys Stratton, 2pts Matt Norman, 3pts & players player to Michael Hobden in the second row after playing centres in the u19s. In 1sts Hornsby jumped out to an early lead and at half time were leading 12-13. A stronger showing by the Sharks in the 2nd half and the much needed bonus win eventuated with the final score 32-13. They had a big team and that made for some big collisions, a tough game that will benefit as the finals get nearer. tries toJoshua Fash Meadham, Max Stewart, Daniel Reihana & Nathan Brown - who also kicked 3 conversions and 2 penalties. 1pt to Jake McPhie &Damon Boxsell, 2pts Nathan Brown, 3pts and players players in a massive performance Emile Thomas. Next week is a huge day in many ways - the home day for Seniors v Kariong - with 1s and 2s both in tight battles to establish good positions in the finals, the drawing of the Janelle Hall raffle, the closing of the Jesse Reupena Parahi jersey auction, and team photo day, hat day and probably some other day i have missed! Start planning to be at the Sharkpool to be part of it all. Cheers Boys The weekend preview has been delayed as the weather has made for some changes, and might make for more depending on how grounds look in the morning. 1st grade and 2nd grade are playing at Mark Taylor Oval, Waitara, with 2s kicking off at 1:40 and 1s at 3pm. The Waitara ground apparently couldn't handle a third game so our u19s will now be playing Gosford at the Showground, a little earlier than usual - 11am hopefully, or a little later as soon as the game before has finished. Our u16s have the 9am game at the Showground. At Ettalong the u9 green are at 8:30am, the u17s at 10:10 and the u14s at 1:10pm. The u8 Gold are at at Slade Park v Northlakes Yellow at 11:30.
All other Junior teams are at Heazlett, starting with the 3 u7s at 8am , the u8s green and u9 gold at 8:40. The u10s at 9:30, u11s at 10:20, u12s at 11:10, u13s at 12:10 and the u15s wrap up the day 1:10pm. As mentioned, the late afternoon rain will means that grounds will be reviewed in the morning. please don't ring, text or ask here about individual games .. as soon as we know of any changes we will put it on facebook and for Juniors the team managers will also be notified. Good luck to all the Sharks! Cheers Boys! |
