A very good day for the Sharks. Two teams straight into Grand Finals and two more into preliminary Finals. At Woy Woy Oval the Womens 7s were in great form and dominated their minor semi-final against Warnervale winning 36-5. two tries each to Taylah Welsh and Elana Withnall, also tries to Summer Witt & Renee Staben, with Inge Visser kicking three conversions. A week off before they play the loser of next weeks major semi. Up at Kariong for the Junior major semis it was a flying start with the u11s playing great running rugby to take a big win. The goal kicking clinic must have went well, a different boy took each conversion attempt, with 4 of them successful. The u12s were a bit like the u17s on Friday, they didn't have their best game and their opponents were in good form. No problems though as they get a second chance next week to qualify for the grand final. The u13s were just fantastic. For boys of that age to play such a well structured game, sticking to the game plan and making very few errors in the process - they really deserved the win over the minor premiers! Sunday has the u15s kicking off at 1220 in the minor semi at Joseph Banks Oval, lets get a lot of supporters there to cheer them on. Well done to all of our Sharks players today! Cheers Boys & Girls!!

Tough night for the u17s, who went down to a Gosford team who capitalised on every mistake our boys made, and backed that up with strong defence all night. It was the last game of their Junior careers for our team, some who have been playing since u7s! They have won some Premierships along the way and more importantly turned into a great group of young men who will smoothly take the step up to u19s and grade next season. Well done to all the players and big thanks to two adults who have been with the team since they started playing in comp ages, Coach Brendan Slape and Trainer Mike McQueen. Cheers Boys!
Finals weekend! A busy one too, with lots of Sharks playing at all 4 venues. On Friday night the u17s have a 735 kickoff at Woy Woy Oval in the Preliminary Final v Gosford, with the winner through to the Grand Final against Warnervale. It would be great to get plenty of supporters there for the game, just remember as it is Juniors there is no alcohol allowed. On Saturday morning the Junior major semi finals are at Kariong. The Senior minor semi finals at Woy Woy Oval where the Womens 7s team kickoff at 11:25 against Warnervale, a win is needed to keep their sensational first season alive. Unfortunately there is a time clash as all of our younger Junior teams are playing up at Kariong, starting with the u11s v Gosford at 9:00, then the u12s v Terrigal at 10:00 and the u13s v Ourimbah at 11:10. We need plenty of support at both grounds, so get to Kariong early and either stay for all games up there, or if you want to see the Womens team, it is a quick trip down the hill to get to Woy Woy. On Sunday at Joseph Banks Oval the u15s are in the minor semi playing Woy Woy, a knockout match with the winner through to the preliminary final. The 15s have had a great season in the combined age group, most giving away a year in age to their opponents, they have done really well to get this far, and another good game would give them a well deserved step further into the competition. There are plenty of options for Sharks supporters, please make a big effort to at least get to one of the grounds to cheer on our players during the weekend! Good Luck to all of our teams, Cheers Boys & Girls!
Congratulations to u17s player Jordan Butler who refereed the 3rd grade game on Saturday. His debut in Grade rugby and he was excellent, already comments on here from both teams about the quality of his work. Jordy has the potential to be a long term first grade second rower and the grumpy old men of 3rds had no chance to intimidate him on the field when he was probably the tallest one out there. Jordy is another product of the Sharks Junior referee mentoring program run by Brett Beaumont that has been consistently producing high quality refs into Central Coast senior & junior rugby for many years now. His only problem on the day was the official uniform, and the shorts designed for 1980s Aussie Rules players!
