We ran out a fairly young first grade side, with new #10 Dylan Cadogan probably preferring the temperature in his home country of Ireland to what he had to play in today. It didn't bother him though and all aspects of his kicking game went well, he also ran in a great solo try to push us to a good 19-3 half time lead. The second half reversed the trends and we didn't get many attacking opportunities, while they made the most of their chances. When they scored a late a try we were behind 25-27 and new coach Justin Staben might have gained a few more grey hairs before we earned a penalty in front that Mitchell Jacob slotted over right on fulltime for the 28-27 win. Great job to fight it out to the finish and a well deserved win. 1pt Dylan Cadogan & Luke Wiseman, 2pts Harrisen Bowcock, 3pts to new Club Captain Jake McPhie who just kept tackling all day, even four consecutive big hits when they were trying to bash out of their own 22. Players player to Dylan Cadogan in a great debut game where he scored and converted a try, kicked a field goal and landed 5 penalties. Justin Gilmore also had his 1st Grade debut doing all the hard work in the second row with Mitch Beames in his first game for the Club at hooker. Young gun Kye Blair debuted off the bench after a good run in seconds. Big thanks to our very important returning volunteers Janelle Hall managing the canteen with Lorna Latham & Michelle Ritchie. On the bar Carolyn Sturgess & Kylie Vawdon kept the much needed liquid refreshment flowing with Richie Pogson helping out where he could. Big thanks as well to Michael Magriplis filling in as strapper/first aider. Next week all four Senior teams at the Sharkpool with grade playing Hornsby and the u19s v Woy Woy. Juniors have the bye for school holidays and the womens draw will be notified early next week .. Some photos coming later .. Cheers Boys!
It was a good day to be a spectator today, much more difficult on the other side of the touchline with 30 degree heat and strong opposition from Kariong. Gameday sponsors were Treads Tyrepower at Kincumber, fantastic long term supporters of the Club. It took the seconds a while to get control of their game but eventually they finished with a 27-7 victory. two tries each to Nathan Pickup and Daniel Reihana, one try to Adam Chettle, with Will Byrne kicking one conversion. Players player and 1pt to Cooper Elliott, 2pts Chris Newton, 3pts Daniel Reihana. Debuts at the Club for Matt Kiddle, Alex Papadatos & Pete Rose, with first games in grade to u19s Kye Blair & Ben Francis.

THANKYOU to the amazing Golden Oldies $3000 for the juniors. We appreciate your support and love having you in the background supporting us with coaching and advice ! There's a lot of experience in the Oldies and we wish you well in the land of the long white cloud. It is still summer but Saturday is a big day at the Sharkpool for the Seniors, with 1sts & 2nds taking on Kariong - 2nds at 1:40 and 1s at 3:00pm. New coaching teams for both grades, with great training turnouts, now for the real thing! u19s and 3rds have a bye this week so these are the only games at home after the u8s play in a gala day that kicks off at 8:30. The womens 7s are playing a gala day at Wongarrah that kicks off at 10am and our Junior teams have gala days before a school holiday bye next weekend. Get to Heazlett in time for the 2nds and give both Sharks squads the support they deserve. Junior parents you will have plenty of time to get back to watch these games, give the Junior Sharks the opportunity to see the players they all look up to. Good Luck to all our teams .. Cheers Boys!
First comp games for our new Womens 7s teams. A few players missing and a very hot day, but all the signs for a good season ahead!
