A fantastic event, huge thanks to Julia Ninness and all of the organising committee for creating such a fun day for everyone . Special thanks to Chantel Laing-Chadwick of Property Central for being major sponsor of Ladies Day This Saturday will be a very big one at The Sharkpool. You would have seen the Ladies Day posts from Julia Ninness, and as part of that event we will have our Senior teams playing in Club socks in tones of pink as a fundraiser for the Jane McGrath Foundation. Those socks will be available for purchase by anyone on the day, for non-players a donation of $10 or more will get you your own pair of these special socks. To further celebrate the Ladies involved in our Club, the Womens 7s games have been moved to be played either side of reserve grade. It does mean u19s, 3s and 2s will be kicking off earlier than usual. For the u19s this will be good preparation for the finals when they will also be kicking off earlier than usual times. The day will commence with the u15s playing Terrigal Blue at 9:30, followed by the u19s against Woy Woy kicking off at 10:40 in a match that will probably decide the minor premiers for the season. Grade teams are playing Gosford, with 3rds at 11:50, after them is the first W7s game v Hornsby at 1:00. The 2nds kickoff at 1:20 followed by the second W7s game at 2:40. Then the big game at 3:00. Expecting superb weather and a huge crowd, boosted by a large contingent of Ladies possibly concentrating heavily on rehydrating in the warm weather! On Friday night u16s play Woy Woy and the u17s play Gosford both at Ettalong Oval, important games for both in the final match before their finals series. The u15 & u17 girls have their gala nights at Woongarrah On Saturday morning the u7, u8, u9 Gold and u11s are all at Gosford Showground. u9 green, u10, u12 & u13 at Ourimbah. Good luck to all our Sharks teams this weekend, see you all at the games Cheers Boys & Girls!
A great day for the Senior Sharks visiting Warnervale. For once the close finishes went our way, with all 3 mens games being sealed right on the bell. The Womens 7s won their first game 17-7 (tries to Taylah Welsh, Renee Staben & Rachael Elcoate who also kicked the conversion) and just missed out in the second game 12-14. (2 tries to Taylah Welsh and a conversion to Rachael Elcoate. On the day 1pt Zali Seisun & Renee Staben, 2pts Jessie Jensen, 3pts Rachael Elcoate with Taylah Welsh the players player. In the u19s I am told that Reece Piepers landed a penalty after full time, from the sideline, across a gale to wrap up a 24-22 win. Tries to Sebastian Eguia, Ben Francis & Solomon Shepherd with Reece Piepers converting 2 to go with the penalty, Reece Jacobs kicked the other conversion. 1pt Michael Houssenloge, 2pts the entire front row of Henry Cumming, Sebastian Eguia & Tom Waterhouse, 3pts Matt Peebles with Reece Piepers voted players player. 2nds also a cliffhanger with a converted try right on full time from a kickoff sealing the 29-21 win. 2tries each to the Matts, Matthew Ritchie & Matt Kiddle with Will Byrne kicking 3 conversions and a penalty. 1pt Matthew Ritchie, 2pts Matt Kiddle & Blake Jacob, 3pts Mitchell Bartholomew Beames and players player Matt Kiddle. I arrived at Woongarrah just as Warnervale opened the scoring in first grade for a 7-0 lead, strong play for the rest of the half saw us leading 20-14 at the break. It got much harder to score in the second half and after two unconverted tries our opponents had a 24-20 lead with not long to go. The Sharks stayed calm and in control and on the final play of the game Matt Anderson crashed over for the winner. Other tries to Jobe Graham and Dylan Cadogan who also converted all 3 (from sidelines!) and kicked a penalty and a drop goal. 1pt Shaun Townsend, 2pts to Kye Blair who has had such a good season I did not even realise it was his first start in Firsts. Like all of our u19s who have been stepping up to cover our long injury list, he was right at home - strong and confident in all his work. 3pts to a man who is playing like he was 10 years younger Emile Thomas. Players player Dylan Cadogan in another masterful performance (half this prize to incredible Club Physio Stan Priestley for his repair work in getting Dylan on the field!). Next week has Seniors at home to Gosford, with it also being Ladies Day - and team photo day for u19s and Womens teams. Cheers Boys & Girls
This Saturday the Senior Sharks are away playing Warnervale at Woongarrah. The Wpmens 7s starts the day at 1040, followed by the u19s at 1100 and the second womens game at 12:10. No Thirds this week, next game up will be 2nds at 1:40 followed by the big game at 3:00. Must win game for the Sharks so would be great to have plenty of supporters to cheer the team. On Friday night the Girls u15s & u17s are at Woongarrah, with the u16s & u17s bots at Ettalong - hoping for a big crowd of grade players to support the boys who will be joining them in Grade over the next couple of years. All of of other Junior teams are home at the Sharkpool. TEAM PHOTO DAY, parents please make sure all players are at the ground earlier than usual so they can be in their gear and ready to go when it is their teams time for the photo. So a full day at heazlett starting with the u7s at 8:00 going right through to the u13s at 1:20 Most games against Warnervale with a couple of ages playing Woy Woy.
