Heazlett Park is partially open for training on 28 April. The cricket pitch and part of the southern end will be marked off and cannot be used. Junior coaches talk to each other, reduce the space you work with and everyone will be happy.

Hopefully a few of you are getting power back on, but at this stage lights are still out in Avoca. Gosford Council has closed Heazlett Park and all grounds until they can be inspected and found safe. This is not just the playing surface it is because of surrounding trees and light poles, car parks etc. We will notify when the ground is open again. Seniors at this stage there is no Clubhouse training as no power, Matt Parker or Justin Staben will notify if there are any changes to this.
No surprise that Heazlett is closed and all juniors training is cancelled. Coach Justin Staben has confirmed Seniors training in the Clubhouse at 7pm. Stan Priestley wont be running his Tuesday night clinic at the Clubhouse, if you need him to look at a weekend injury give a call on 43678022 to organise being assessed at his Erina rooms.
Edit: Senior training cancelled as well A week is a long time in Rugby, and the great Club spirit from last week was backed up with some great play for our Seniors to win all 4 grades v Woy Woy. Lots of new players again, some old players returning, and another week together all made a difference.
Colts started the day with with a 24-7 win. Tries to Max Stewart, Matt Ritchie, Ethan Fullagar & Tyler McManus, with Josh Davies (no, not the old one) converting two. 3pts to new player Tom Drennan, 2pts Rhys Stratton ...and 1pt to Kepi Jackson & Tyler McManus - with Kepi also being voted players player. Thirds took on last years premiers and also picked up a bonus point win. The earth really was shaking at times when we had some very big men packing into the scrum. Tries to the backs though: Gareth Brown, Jake Monk, Cody Morrow, Daniel Reihana & Michael Rawiri with Travis Gallen converting one of them. 3pts to Gareth Brown, 2pts to Chris Oakes and 1pt to the big boppers Stephen Lamb & Tod Wadey (out of retirement again!). Players player was shared by all players, it was a real team effort! 2nd Grade continued the run of bonus point wins with 34-20 result our way. Tries to Brook Cheezy Morrow, Jesse Pavlovich, Chris Peihopa, and a double to Jordan Huszarek. Mitchell Jacob converted 3 and kicked a penalty. 3pts to Cheezy, 2pts to Pav and 1pt to new player Paul Leef, who also got players player. Then on to the top grade and last seasons premiers were ready to play. They had a 22-7 lead at half time that went out to 29-7 soon after. Then the comeback began, and once the momentum kicked in it was an amazing reversal that finished with 38-29 to the Sharks. Huge effort! Tries to Luke Sheridan, Jared Fitzsimmons, Justin Staben, Speedy and a double to Jimmy Latham. Speedy kicked 4 conversions in the bonus point win. 3 pts to cleanly shaven Justin Staben, 2pts to Luke Sheridan and 1pt to the breakaways Chad Martin & Blake Jacob. In a first for the Club, the players player voting finished in a 3 way tie: Luke Sheridan, Chad Martin & Blake Jacob. Towards the end of the game we had another big family moment when Mitch Jacob came on to join his twin Blake. Sorry I didn't get a photo boys, but this will happening plenty of times in future and I'll get one then. 2 weeks break for Anzac Day and then Senior Country Championships, next game away at Hornsby v the team who defeated Ourimbah today. See you all at training, .. Cheers Boys! |
