This Saturday is major semis and another busy day for the Sharks. At Slade Park we have the u12s, u14s, u15s & u16s playing for a spot in the Grand Finals, then at Woy Woy it is first grade looking for the direct entry to the big game. All of those games except the u12s (v Ourimbah) are against Terrigal. Timing isn't too bad, u12s at 9:00, u14s at 11:20, u15s at 12:30 and u16s at 1:40. 1sts kick off at 3pm. So you can see all of the games, just either missing the end of the 16s or start of 1sts depending on where your priorities lie. Plan ahead, get to as many games as you can. Good Luck to everyone playing! Cheers Boys!!

20 August u19 Match report

21/8/2016

Management of the u19s is in good hands! Here is the match report from Wayne Elliott of the great win in the minor semi:
Ian, the boys played perfect rugby in the first 10 mins. Controlled the ball beautifully with multiple phases and earned 2 penalties that Connor Kondrat converted for 6 nil lead. Then extended that lead to 13 nil after strong run from Michael Hobden to score under the sticks and easy conversion for Connor. Then possession and territory swung the other way and Warnervale got 2 converted tries to lead 14-13 at halftime. The boys came back strongly in the second half and game was in the balance until a master stroke from the coaches who switched the speedy Jordan Sanchez from the left to the right wing. He duly beat his opposite winger and stood up the fullback to score a beautiful try. After another great conversion from Connor we were up 20-14. After Ben Harding was forced off with an ankle injury, Sam Evans steered the team around the park and Connor kicked another penalty goal to lead 23-14. Warnervale then hit back with a try out wide, but couldn't kick the conversion and our lead was cut to 23-19. It was a tense last 5 minutes and the forwards won a crucial scrum against the feed to keep the ball in Warnervales half. A penalty right on full time that was again converted by Connor gave us the game 26-19. 1 pt to bothLochie Peruch and Sam Evans, 2pts to Jordan Sanchez and 3 pts to Michael Anderson. Players player was shared by Sam Evans and Connor Kondrat

The finals series has got off to a great start for the Sharks. Four of our five teams keeping in the premiership race with wins in their minor semi finals. u11s got it all headed in the right direction at the Haven with a 15-5 win over Woy Woy, followed by the u13s getting up over Terrigal Red17-0. Over at Woy Woy the u19s played smart and defeated Warnervale 26-19, followed the 2nds continuing their amazing end of season form with a 32-5 victory over Terrigal. Back to The Haven for the u17s and unfortunately they met a team on fire in the first half and went to the break down 3-23. A much better 2nd half but couldn't get back into the game and ending their very good season (where they had victories over all the teams above them) going down 3-28.
Next week is major semis and another busy day for the Sharks.
