Seniors were at Ourimbah with the u19s getting off to a good start against the competition leaders. Dominated field position and earned a couple of penalty goals as a reward. Unfortunately Ourimbah had a lot of strike power and made the most every opportunity they got. Special mention to Jack Magriplis who made some outstanding tackles on his wing, 3 times winning us a scrum feed by keeping bigger players off the ground and locked in a maul. The game finished up at 6-27. 1pt Michael Anderson, 2pts Jack Magriplis, 3pts and players player to Ben Harding Isaac Barnes kicked the two penalties.
2nds were in a must win game and despite having the best of field position in the first half a runaway try had them down 0-7. Gerard Aldrick scored a great try for 5-7, then they went ahead 12-5 before a converted penalty try for us levelled the game. It was a nail biter and we received a late penalty, Justin Staben stepped up to make the kick and seal a 15-12 win. One of the highlights was an amazing maul where it looked like our player may have been held up in the tackle, but players came from everywhere and suddenly there were 11 Sharks players driving it about 30m downfield until Ourimbah had to collapse the maul to stop our progress. 1pt Brad Brad Bunce Mitchell, 2pts Matt Ritchie, 3pts Cameron Shaw. Players player Gerard Aldrick
First grade also had a must win game and came out with intent and power to quickly get to a 19-0 lead with three sensational tries to the speed men; 2 to Joe Carroll and the other to Nathan Brown. They hit back with a try for 19-5 at the break. Much tighter in the second half, and a few opportunities went begging (I won't mention anything Brad Bunce Mitchell) but most importantly Chad Martin scored the 4th try to give us a bonus point on the ladder. Nathan Brown kicked 3 conversions in the 26-5 victory. Impressive right across the team and coaches had difficulty singling out those for points .. 1pt Pete Steele & Daniel Reihana, 2pts Luke Sheridan, 3pts and players player out of his usual position at #13 Mitchell Jacob. Congratulations to u19s player Harrisen Bowcock for getting his first time in first grade late in the match. Next week another important away game for all 4 Senior teams v Gosford at The Showground. Cheers Boys!

Big games for the Senior Sharks this Saturday v Ourimbah at Ourimbah. The day starts with our u13s playing a catch up game at 10:20, followed by the u19s at 11:20. Then a short break as Ourimbah aren't fielding a 3rds team this season. At 1:40 the 2nds take the field, with the top grade kicking off at 3pm. These are very important games for all teams so make time to get over to Ourimbah for as many games as you can, no other Junior games, so what a great day out for all our Junior families, supporting the Sharks! See you there .. Cheers Boys!

Short day for the Seniors today. Colts went up to Slade Park to play Terrigal in what was a great game of Rugby - hard, fast, played in the right spirit. We opened the scoring when Jordan Sanchez finished off some good play to cross the line, unconverted. They came back with a try scored wide out right on half time, followed by the kick that proved the difference, a drop kick from near touch was successful to give them a 7-5 lead at the break. The second half was tight rugby, a few breaks but no one could cross the line. Isaac Barnes kicked a nice penalty to get us in front 8-7, but they replied a little while later with a penalty as well for 8-10. Right on full time we got a penalty about 40metres out on an angle and Isaac Barnes made a great strike at the ball but it drifted away and the boys just missed out on the points. great effort all round, the pack was fantastic, dominating scrums all day, and everything else looked good too - by the time it gets to the important end of the season this combination will be right in the thick of things. 1pt and players player Cooper Elliott, 2pts Liam Donsworth, 3pts and showing the form that had him playing for CHS 2nds, Ben Harding.
I didn't see any of the 3rds game that was a 29-5 win to us. Justin Staben continues to have a great time running around in the thirstys, scoring a try, a conversion, taking the 3pts and players player! Nathan Brown scored 2 tries, a conversion and a penalty, the other try to Chris Newton and a conversion to Josh Parish. 1pt to Justin Thomas & Josh Parish, 2pts Ash Roberts. Byes for the top 2 grades
Next week is a week off for all Juniors except u13s who have a catch up game. They will be playing before Seniors who are at Ourimbah. No 3rd grade for Ourimbah but very important games for 19s, 2s and 1s - so plan on making an effort to get over there on Saturday to support the Sharks. Cheers Boys!
