Due to a missed email this great interview with Paul Kendal didn't get shared back in late May. Paul had been coaching the Central Coast CHS team at the CHS titles in Armidale and while there was interviewed by Jonathan Wicks. Jonathan does a huge amount of work to get Rugby promoted in regional media. PK showed he is good with a microphone and might find himself working the Club PA when not coaching!

Huge crowd in the clubhouse to honour one of our greatest. The official jersey presentation to Emile Thomas to mark his 200 first grade games for the Club There have been better days at the Sharkpool, but despite no wins for the Seniors the effort from all of our players was fantastic. Good news was wins for the u14s and u16s to open the days proceedings. u17s played the comp leaders and despite being short of players (thanks to all the u16s who helped out) really showed off their skills. u19s got off to a good start and had all the field position for long periods of the game, but could not convert that to any more points. A couple of late tries to terrigal blew the score out to 7-23. Jobe Graham had a big game scoring the try, getting the 3pts and players player! Harry Fortey converted the try. 1pt Michael Hobden, 2pts Tristan Morris-bowyer, the tallest half back in the comp. 3rds also looked good for a lot of the game without getting the points to match and eventually went down 10-19. Harry Fortey and Damon Boxsell scored the tries. 1pt to Nick Rendall, 2ptsTye Booker, 3pts and players player in an impressive debut Phil Ozich. Seconds were the heartbreakers, playing really good Rugby against the competition leaders and when they scored a converted try to grab a 17-14 lead with not long to go it looked like a continuation of their great record against Terrigal. But a late converted try against them stole the points, finishing at 17-21. Tries to Paul Farah & Josh Parish, Ash Roberts a conversion & penalty, Rob Magrath a conversion. 1pt Tommy Parrish, 2pts Tim Warwick, 3pts Ethan Fullagar. Players player Aussie Bob Hurrell .. again! On to the big game and our boys came playing some of their best Rugby of the season. Strong defence and controlled ball movement really put a lot of pressure on the team that has dominated Central Coast Rugby this season. Playing in front of a great and very vocal crowd of Sharks Old Boys they really gave it all. Unfortunately Terrigal were able to convert more of their opportunities and at full time we went down 12-33, a scoreline that doesn't really reflect how close the game had been. Tries to Blake Jacob & Josh Parish, a conversion to Connor Kondrat. 1pt to Matt Anderson & Mick Arnold, 2pts Emile Thomas, 3pts big Jake McPhie. Players player to the captain Matt Anderson. Next week another big game away at Woy Woy. Cheers Boys! Terrigal Day .. thats it, no more needed to get an Avoca supporter ready to be part of Seniors day home at the Sharkpool. Lets get a full house, green everywhere to support our teams. If you don't have a Club polo or cap, they will be on sale at the canteen! Day starts at 8am with the u14s, followed by the u16s & u17s. u19s kickoff at 11:20, followed by 3s at 12:30, 2s at 1:40 and the big game at 3:00pm. Over at the Haven u7s start the day at 8am, with all the ages right through to the u13s at 12:50. The u8 White team are at Ourimbah at 8:40 as Terrigal don't have the same number of teams as us in that age group. It is a huge day, parents if you are new to the Club, this is the day to make sure you and your young players get back to Heazlett to be part of what is the biggest day of Rugby in regional NSW. Just an early housekeeping note, a big crowd means lots of rubbish. There will be bins and also lots of garbage bags. The orange bags will be for general rubbish and the black bags for cans. Please use them, keep the ground clean so at the end of the day we dont have too much extra work. See you all there, Cheers Boys!!
