Tough day at Ourimbah for the Sharks grade teams, leaving there without a win. The Colts started the day at Woy Woy with a good win over the home team 15-0. Big day out for Declan Tancred, scored a try, conversion and penalty goal - awarded the coaches 3pts and voted players player. Then he showed up at Ourimbah to help out grade and came off the bench in 2s and 3s! The other try to Aidan King, 2pts Isaiah Fairless, 1pt Harry Fortey on his return from injury. A short handed Thirds opened the scoring in their match with a Will Byrne penalty goal, unfortunately that was the end of their scoring while Ourimbah scored heavily in the 1st half. We were much improved in the second half, only conceding 5 points for a final score of 3-38. Great spirit to fight so hard when so far behind and a player less than the opposition. 1pt Angus Ford, 2pts Jason Carlisle & Deon Rangi, 3pts and players player Wayne Lancaster. Big thanks to the players from higher grades who helped out, and to Thirds players who got plenty of game time backing up later in the day. Seconds started strongly and took the penalties on offer from the pressure they created, Ash Roberts landing 2 penalties for a 6-0 lead. Unfortunately like 3rds they couldn't find any more points, some late scoring that took it out to 6-29 and made the scoreline not match the closeness of the game. 1pt Ethan Fullagar, 2pts Ash Roberts, 3pts and players player in a massive effort Ozzie Bob Hurrell. Firsts started a bit slowly and Ourimbah took the early lead, we came back with a couple of good tries and at half time it was 12-19 and the game was wide open. In the second half their counter attack got them a couple of tries, we scored late but ended up going down 17-33. Tries to Luke Sheridan, Liam Donsworth & Patrick Wheatley, a conversion to Connor Kondrat. 1pt to the front rowers Luke Sheridan, Joshua Fash Meadham & Jake McPhie who had the Ourimbah scrum going backwards all day. 2pts Chad Martin & Matt Anderson, 3pts and players player to the hit man in the back line Chris Newton. Iron man award to Tommy Parrish, who was at the ground early enough to help out thirds, had a full game in 2s and then had to go on early in 1sts when we lost Mitchell Jacob. When he finally had to come off - Josh Parish took his spot, also having helped out 3s, played 2s before getting on in 1sts. Massive effort boys! Next week the biggest day of the year at the Sharkpool - Seniors home to Terrigal. Get there early! Cheers Boys!!
