We have had worse days at Kariong, today was 4 wins out of 5. Unfortunately 1st grade were the ones who missed out. In the Womens 7s the team showed the results of Inge Visser's scrum training in the clubhouse on a rainy thursday and dominated the set pieces, got the ball wide to the where the speed was and had two great wins. In the first game Elana Withnall scored three tries, Summer Witt one and Rachael Elcoate landed a conversion in the 22-12 win. An even better result in the second game 31-12, with tries to Elana Withnall (2), Summer Witt (2) and Taylah Welsh, 3 conversions to Rachael Elcoate. On the day 1pt Rachael Elcoate, 2pts Hannah Stewart, 3pts Mýa Harvey with Summer Witt the players player. In the u19s the report has to start with a big shout out to Ronan Fitzpatrick, in his 72nd game for the Club since starting in the u15s in 2014 Ronan scored his first ever try! In the earlier post from Brad Bunce Mitchell you will see that Ronan is off into the army now, while another young Shark Jordan Davies started his army career this week - good luck to both young men with their new careers. In the game the u19s were dominant in the 52-21 victory and played some really good rugby in scoring eight tries, with 8 different try scorers and 6 of them converted by Reece Piepers. Try scorers were Ronan Fitzpatrick, Eamon Powell, Ben Francis, Finn Flaherty, Oscar Bath, Solomon Shepherd, Michael Houssenloge & Hayden Davies. 1pt Eamon Powell & Tom Wood, 2pts Reece Piepers & Ben Francis, 3pts and unanimous players player Ronan Fitzpatrick. The 2nds regained their early season form and got stronger as the game went on to secure a bonus point 33-15 win. Ben Francis really strong in the centres scoring 3 tries, Paul Farah & Will Byrne also got tries, with Will Byrne kicking 4 conversions. 1pt Kyle Oakes & Joshua Fash Meadham, 2pts Emile Thomas, 3pts Ben Francis with Will Byrne the players player. Firsts got off to a good start, rewarded for each time the got into Kariong's half with long range penalty goals. The lead swapped a couple times as they scored two converted tries and we kicked another penalty, then a great solo try to Dylan Cadogan meant it was 14-14 at the break. They scored another 7 pointer early in the second half and then we dominated possession and field position for the rest of the game, but could not find a way through their defence. They managed to score another converted try off the last play of the game, finishing at 14-28. All the points to Dylan Cadogan with 3 penalties and a try. 1pt Aidan King, 2pts Dylan Cadogan, 3pts and players in a sensational effort at #7 Liam Donsworth. The day finished with another victory, the Golden Schooner returning home to the Sharkpool. Next week top 2 grades and Womens have the road trip to Hornsby and u19s away at Ourimbah, 3rds a bye. Cheers Boys & Girls!
