New scoreboard looks sensational.. Thanks to sponsors Raine & Horne.. Great work on the signage by Brian Rendall at Signco Erina! Thanks to Rod Ninness, it was his engineering of the unique way that the board is displayed that made it all possible! All the result of a great idea and hard work by sponsorship guru Paul Bacigalupo

Big Congratulations to Hannah Stewart from our Womens rugby 7s team, just selected in the Combined High Schools Rugby team. Pic courtesy of proud mum Nerida Stewart.
Terrigal Day! The biggest home day of the season for our Club. Starts at 10:40 with the Womens 7s and then more high quality Rugby all day with u19s (@11:00), 3s (@12:30) and 2s (@1:40) before the big game kicks off at 3pm. No excuses, cool weather means Rugby weather and not a reason to skip getting to the Sharkpool to support our players! Our Juniors start with the u17s tonight 7:40 playing Terrigal at ourimbah. u16s have a bye, and u14s, u13s, u12s have a bye for their reps weekend. The u8 and u9 Gold teams are at Gosford , with all other teams at The Haven. Good luck to all our players, have fun! Cheers Boys!
The Country Championships for Open Boys, u15 Girls & u17 girls were hosted by CCJRU this weekend. The CCJRU Open boys had a big contingent of Sharks players and after winning both Saturday games, they missed a final spot by just one point in the semis and won the 3/4 playoff. Their good play was rewarded with many achieving Country selection including these Avoca players: Matt Peebles, Kye Blair, Reece Jacobs, Michael Houssenloge & Adam Peruch. Most of our u19s backline there! Congratulations to all and good luck in the higher level rep games!
Both girls teams were coached by Brooke Morgan & Max Malkin, with many CCJRU girls being selected for the next level. More importantly they were the teams who had the best reserve benches in the tournament. Every good play or tackle from their team AND their opposing teams received big cheers from the Coast girls, coaches, managers and parents. No negative comments at any time for anyone involved in the game (apart from a few gentle digs at Max needing to head for the shade as the sun heated up). So good to see how coaching with the spirit of rugby as a prime inspiration drew such good reactions from everyone in & surrounding the team as well as getting the best out of the players. Quality work gentlemen! |
