Seniors at home ended with a couple of wins, and a lot of respect for the crew from Northlakes Slade Park, most of whom had to play both grades on the day. They didn't let up at any time, and then afterwards showed their respect for the spirit of Rugby by staying back for a few drinks and a feed at the Clubhouse. As always, everyone well looked after all day by the amazing Janelle Hall, and her canteen helpers Lorna Latham & Michelle Ritchie ... with William Ritchie and Caro...lyn Sturgess, Kerrie Yates & Kylie Vawdon ensuring there were no dry arguments.
1sts had a big win, highlight being 4 tries, players player and 1pt to
Blake Jacob. 3pts to Chad Martin who loved being back in the forwards, 2pts to Joshua Fash Meadham, and 1pt to debutante Tyler Mcmanus. Despite a big miss from in front with his first attempt Dylan Hardaker got the radar right with 11 conversions.
Much closer in the 2s who had a 39-10 victory, though the broken leg to our new player in his first match meant our thoughts were less on the result and more on his welfare. (He is comfortable now - with an operation tomorrow, we will you keep you updated.) 3 tries, players player and 3pts to Jordan Huszarek, 1pt to
Paul Leef, Tom Cole scored a try and 2 conversions. Leaving the best to last Stephen Lamb showed some great skills in getting across the tryline THREE times, life member Brian Goffett is claiming that is a record for a grade prop .. can anyone recall a better effort?
The u19s bounced back from last weeks big loss to really stretch the red hot Ourimbah squad. They are starting to look like a team and the season has a long way to go, expect to see a lot more improvement! 3pts to
Sam Evans, 2pts to Bailey Hayes, back in the boots after a season off and a national rowing title, 1pt to Tyler Mcmanus. Players player was u17s 2nd rower Michael Hobden who also scored the only try in the 5-19 loss - thanks to all of the u17s who helped out the u19s today!
We also saw lots of great Juniors rugby, highlight being the 2 games of u7s warming up the crowd before the 2nds - lots of future Seniors Sharks in those young boys! The u14s had a strong win over Warnervale and the u16s were exceptional in claiming a victory over Terrigal. u8s & u9 opened the day with lots of great running rugby. Next week is the bye for everyone for the long weekend and then we return on the 13th with Terrigal at the Sharkpool. Cheers Boys
