The Sharks will contribute to the Nepal earthquake appeal by pledging all profits from this Friday night's raffle at the Avoca Bowlo to that cause. Also all of our spare socks and shorts will be sent there as soon as possible. The picture is of Club president Terry Sturgess & life member Robert Burns with the 5 bags full of gear that will dropped off to a collection centre tomorrow. Dylan Hardaker took some shorts and socks to Nepal recently to give to the kids over there, they were very well liked - hopefully these will be some small assistance to those now facing such great hardship.

Backpacker Medics is my eldest son Nathan’s vehicle for the services he and his fellow paramedics carry out in in Nepal
Backpacker Medics have recently in conjunction with the Moonlight Centre in Kathmandu completed the building of a medical centre in a remote village in Nepal
Nathan’s associates in Kathmandu are reportedly all ok but they have had no word yet from the medical centre ( which is quite close to Mt Everest and currently there is no communication links to the village)
Nathan has only recently returned from Nepal which is in itself is a comfort to our family knowing he is safe.
However his associates in Kathmandu reported over night that the devastation is unbelievable and that the Nepalese medical & aid services are not coping very well
