Congratulations to Summer Witt from our Womens 7s team. She has been invited to a training camp for the Australian Youth 7s. That camp is part of the development program that eventually leads to the selection of an Australian 7s team to compete in the World Schools tournament in NZ at the end of the year. Summer has benefited from the wonderful coaching and mentorship of Inge Visser, our team's Internationally experienced captain/coach who has led all of the team to great improvement over the season. She is the youngest player in our team, still eligible for the u17s, and improving every game as a central player in the team structure. Playing in the local comp Summer came to the attention of Hugh Carpenter as part of his talent development role at Rugby Australia and he identified that her potential merited higher opportunities like the one she has now been offered. It is well deserved recognition of where her game is at now, and how far her talent may take her in Rugby 7s!
